Description
“Choice Mix” Bachelor’s Buttons seeds offer a real cottage garden feel to your yard.
Bachelor’s buttons are a popular annual that is native to temperate zones in Europe but has become endangered due to extensive agriculture. It does grow beautifully in North America, however, and has become a popular flower for cottage gardens.
The stems of bachelor buttons are grayish-green and produce multiple branches. The blooms of Centaurea cyanus feature flowerheads with rings of tiny florets in shades of white, pink, lavender, and blue.
This variety of the aster family offers striking 1-1.5 inch double and semi-double flower heads on a tall stem in bright pinks, blues, whites, and purple. They’re prolific bloomers, adding color to your garden from late spring into early fall. They’re also a big favorite of butterflies, who find them conveniently tall and easy to land upon.
Just give them plenty of sunshine. They won’t need much fertilizer or additional watering once established.
