Tips for Growing Floradade Tomatoes

Sow indoors or under cover in large cell trays at least 6 weeks before planting out for best results. Sow at ¼ inch depth and keep cells moist and under light for at least 8 hours per day. Keep soil warm, at least 75 degrees during the germination period.

Harden off seedlings before planting out. Space 24-36 inches apart in rich but well-draining soil. Provide a balanced, slow-dissolving granular fertilizer upon planting out.

Keep soil moist during the first week while the plant establishes. Then, provide at least 1 inch of water per week or more often if plants seem tired-looking. Remember to water at the roots and avoid getting foliage wet. Mulch root zone to help retain moisture.

Feed plants again once tomatoes begin to appear and then once more once the first tomato ripens.

Floradade tomatoes are determinate, which means they will need little to no pruning and will not vine extensively. If you have a longer season, you can sow them sequentially to ensure a longer season
