Red Tropical Hibiscus, Small, Free Shipping

Description

These red Tropical Hibiscus plants are ready to plant out in your tropical garden.

Tropical Hibiscus is hardy in zones 9 to 11 but can be overwintered in zone 8 with proper attention to preparation.

But if you’re in a temperate climate, you can still grow these tropical beauties in containers and overwinter them indoors.

These Red Tropical Hibiscus evoke the feeling of the South Pacific and Caribbean with less care than you’d imagine. In Zones 9-11, they grow easily in the landscape, often reaching heights of 7 feet if you’re not paying enough attention.

They love sunshine and will produce a plethora of perfect brilliant red blooms that last for just a day. With the right care, they will be covered in blooms from late spring until the first cold day of fall/winter.

Red Tropical Hibiscus Care

In Zones 7 and cooler, Tropical Hibiscus can be grown indoors in containers with adequate light and good soil that’s rich in organic matter. Place them outdoors when temperatures are over 65°F so they can get some extra sunshine. They also enjoy a light summer rain.

In Zones 8-11, plant outdoors in the landscape or in containers. Choose a sunny spot and water and feed regularly through the growing season.

They like regular watering but don’t appreciate having long periods of wet feet.

For best blooms, use a fertilizer for acid-loving plants on a monthly basis during the growing season.

Prune back regularly during the growing season to prevent them from getting too leggy.

If growing in containers, use potting soil with plenty of organic matter. They will do well outdoors in a sunny spot during the warmer months of the year (65°F) but should be brought in or protected if temperatures fall below 50°F.
