Description

Rose Mallow thrives in USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9 and does best in full sun with consistent moisture. Naturally adapted to wet conditions, it’s a good choice for rain gardens, pond edges, and low-lying areas that hold water.

ROSE MALLOW DESCRIPTION

Rosemallow grows upright with attractive, deeply lobed foliage. It produces pale pink to light rose-colored flowers with darker centers from mid to late summer.

The blooms are large, open during the day, and pollinator-friendly, especially to bees and butterflies.

HOW TO GROW ROSE MALLOW FROM SEED

Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost or sow directly in the garden after danger of frost has passed. Seeds benefit from soaking overnight before planting to speed germination.

Sow on the surface or barely cover with soil, as light helps trigger sprouting. Keep soil moist until germination, which typically occurs in 14–21 days at temperatures around 70°F (21°C).

Rose Mallow is a dependable, low-maintenance native that brings structure and summer color to naturalized plantings, wetland edges, and pollinator gardens.

Create a wildlife haven in your garden by planting these enchanting native wildflowers.
