Bok Choy or (Pak Choy) Cabbage (Brassica rapa (Chinensis)) is fast growing and super flexible Asian green that goes that extra mile in a subtropical or southern climate garden. Plant from early fall, through winter, well into spring, and even summer. You can grow this variety year-round in Zones 9-11.
This extra dwarf variety of Bok Choy matures in just 30 days, so make sure you do succession planting so you’ll always have a fresh head of this delicious Asian cabbage. It forms adorable tiny heads about 2 to 3 inches tall, and it’s ready to harvest in just 30 days.
Use in stir-fries, sauté, or make homemade kimchi!

TIPS FOR GERMINATION
For best results, direct sow in well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Sow at ¼ inch depth and keep the soil moist. Bok choy will germinate best at soil temperatures between 60 and 70°F.
Once germinated, thin seedlings to allow 6-8 inches apart.
Keep soil moist during the first week after germination and then provide at least 1 inch of water per week. Mulching the root zone will help to retain moisture.
Feed plants diluted nitrogen-rich fertilizer once during active growth.
