Please note the shipping restrictions in the first paragraph.
Your plant will be shipped bare-root, swaddled in soil-less medium, and packaged as well as possible against shipping damage while still keeping costs reasonable.
We also only ship plants by Priority Mail to reduce the chances of plant damage, overheating, or chilling. We ship plants Monday – Wednesday only to avoid weekend delays. Please let us know if you are currently experiencing extreme weather conditions so we can take any extra care in packaging your plant.
However, we cannot control USPS shipping times or possible damages in transit.
If you have any problem with your plant at the time of delivery, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt. We do not offer returns or refunds after 48 hours of delivery.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Spider plants are extremely tolerant of most growing conditions. However, for optimum health, provide a pot only slightly larger than your root mass for transplanting. Make sure the container has adequate drainage holes.
Use potting soil with plenty of organic matter. Once transplanted into the new container, water in well. Afterward, water whenever the top inch or two of the soil becomes dry.
Place your spider plant in a comfortable indoor spot that receives anything from very low light to bright shade. They prefer bright, indirect light, but will tolerate lower light conditions.
Allow your plant a week or two to recover from shipment and acclimate to its new home.
Once established in its new container, fertilize every two weeks in the spring and summer months during active growing. Spider plants also benefit from misting to help keep the leaves clean and healthy.
Spider plants can also be kept outdoors in warm weather and can make lovely hanging patio plants in shady corners. In zones 9 to 11, you can even plant them in your landscape borders in a sheltered spot where they will spread their “spider babies.”
