Description
Blue Star Morning Glory delivers exceptional beauty and rapid growth for vertical gardens and landscape structures. The distinctive blue flowers feature bold dark blue star patterns radiating from white and yellow centers.
Each trumpet-shaped bloom measures 4 to 5 inches across and attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds throughout the growing season. Though individual flowers last only one day, the plant produces abundant blooms continuously from late summer through early fall.
This heirloom vine has been treasured for centuries across Asian and American cultures for both ornamental and traditional uses. The vigorous vines reach 10 feet or more by season’s end, creating lush coverage with heart-shaped leaves and masses of flowers.
Blue Star Morning Glory thrives in heat and tolerates dry conditions once established. Plant along fences, arbors, pergolas, or allow to trail as groundcover. The plant self-sows readily for natural reseeding in following seasons.
Do not injest Blue Star morning glory seeds. The plants may be toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.

TIPS FOR GERMINATION
Before sowing, nick seeds with a sharp knife and soak overnight in warm water before planting to speed germination.
Direct sow your morning glories in a sunny location at least 6 inches apart in your flower bed approximately ¼- ½ inch deep. Make sure all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed to 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
Plant seeds a quarter-inch deep in well-draining soil. Space plants 12 to 18 inches apart in full sun with substantial support such as a fence, trellis, or arbor.
Vines grow rapidly in heat and require consistent moisture but not soggy conditions.
