Blue butterfly pea vine, or Clitoria ternatea, is a gorgeous tropical flowering vine native to Southeast Asia, but can also be found growing in tropical and subtropical climes in Australia, Africa, and the Americas.

Description
Blue butterfly pea vine flowers are not just a stunner in the flower bed — they also have culinary and medicinal uses.
In Southeast Asia, it is used as a food coloring and is particularly well-loved as a cold or hot tea when combined with lemongrass. The tea is a beautiful vivid blue color but turns purple when lemon juice is added.
As well as making a wonderful natural dye for textiles, it is also currently used in Australia as a bee-friendly crop pesticide that breaks down harmlessly in the environment.
It works as a nitrogen fixer in the garden and the foliage is safe fodder for pets and livestock, making it a beautiful choice for Zone 9-12 permaculture designs.
USDA Hardiness Zone: 9-11, in cooler zones, grow it trellised in a container to over-winter indoors.

This listing is for one blue butterfly pea vine plant as shown, in a 1-gallon grow bag, ready to pot up or plant out.
Your plant will be shipped in a soil-less medium root ball and packaged as well as possible against shipping damage while still keeping costs reasonable.
We only ship live plants by Priority Mail on Mondays through Wednesdays to reduce the chances of plant damage, overheating, or chilling.
